Do you have a patchy lawn or weak looking grass? Over seeding is recommended for thin lawns that have sparse grass blade density. You can over seed inexpensively and quickly but you will still have to wait 4-6 weeks to see good results. If you have patchy or dead areas in your lawn, be sure rake out the dead grass and top dress with a good quality loam or garden mix. Add a good quality urban seed over top of the loam being careful not to put down too much seed. Watering is key to getting the grass to germinate so make sure to keep the seeds moist for several weeks by watering daily. You can over seed your entire lawn by using a fertilizer spreader filled with grass seed or a mix of loam and grass seed. Again, watering is key so keep the seeds moist until they germinate and take root.
